The blowing tube is the part of the instrument that forms the transition between the mouthpiece and the instrument.

Description

The blowing tube is one of the parts of the instrument that directs the air to the tone-producing area.
The design of the geometry is therefore particularly important. The blowing tube also has a strong influence on the response and sound of the instrument.
The internal geometries are of crucial importance.

Material

93% of the blowing tubes with the article number 49-13-AS are made from climate-neutral and renewable materials. The remaining 7% are light-curing plastics, which are also used in dental technology.

Application

There are three different sizes of blowing tubes.

Development

The blowing tubes have undergone continuous further development. A particularly important model development took place in March 2011. As the mouthpieces on the alto models did not sit firmly in the blowing tube due to the short mouthpiece spigot, parts were reworked.
The tenon of the mouthpieces was extended. This allowed a cork ring to be attached to the tenon. The blowing tubes were also redesigned so that the longer tenons did not interfere with the air flow in the blowing tube. They were given a step. You can easily recognise the new blowing tubes by this raised plateau.

These blowing tubes are suitable for mouthpieces without cork on the tenon.
