The square Paetzold recorders are almost immortal thanks to their ingenious construction method.
Herbert Paetzold designed the windway - one of the most elementary parts of a recorder - in such a way that it can be replaced if necessary. Professional recorder players have appreciated this for decades. This allows the instrument - possibly in combination with a new block - to start a new life.
The other components of the instruments are also so ingeniously thought out and have been continuously improved over the years that Paetzold (by Kunath) recorders can be played for an above-average length of time before they need an overhaul in the workshop.
For these reasons, we give you a 5-year guarantee on your instrument.
Guarantee conditions
Kunath Instrumentenbau (guarantor) grants a 5-year guarantee on the instruments manufactured by us. The period for calculating the guarantee period begins on the invoice date. The geographical scope of the guarantee cover is worldwide.
The guarantee refers to the freedom from defects of the instruments, including functionality, material or production defects.
Should a defect occur during the warranty period, the manufacturer will provide one of the following services at its discretion within the scope of this warranty:
- repair of the goods free of charge or
- free replacement of the goods with an equivalent item

Warranty claims are excluded in the event of damage to the goods due to
- normal wear and tear
- improper handling
- non-observance of safety precautions
- Use of force (e.g. blows)
- Attempted repairs by the customer
A prerequisite for claiming warranty service is that the guarantor, or a person authorised by the guarantor, is enabled to examine the warranty case (e.g. by sending in the goods). Care must be taken to ensure that damage to the goods during transport is avoided by using secure packaging. A copy of the invoice for the consignment of goods must be enclosed with the warranty claim so that the guarantor can check whether the warranty period has been observed. Without a copy of the invoice, the guarantor may refuse to honour the guarantee. In the case of justified warranty claims, you will not incur any shipping costs, i.e. the guarantor will reimburse any shipping costs for the outward shipment.
This manufacturer's guarantee does not restrict your statutory rights against us arising from the purchase contract concluded with us. Any existing statutory warranty rights against us remain unaffected by this guarantee promise. The manufacturer's guarantee therefore does not infringe your statutory rights, but rather extends your legal position.
If the purchased item is defective, you can always contact us under the statutory warranty, regardless of whether a warranty case exists or the warranty is claimed.
